Manage product lifecycle and engineering changes
The PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) module manages product lifecycle and engineering changes in Odoo. This module allows creating and managing ECO (Engineering Change Order), managing product and BoM versions, multi-level approval workflows, and tracking component changes.

Create New ECO
Steps
1. Go to PLM → ECOs.
2. Click New.
3. Fill in basic information: Product, BoM, Type, Priority.
4. Click Start Revision to create new version.
5. Edit new BoM in New BoM tab.
6. View changes in Changes tab.
View Changes
The Changes tab displays all changes compared to the original BoM.

ECO Approval Workflow
Each stage can require approval from multiple roles. Approvers can Approve, Reject, or Comment.
BoM Version Management
Each time an ECO is applied, the BoM version number increases. Can view version history and compare changes.
Technical Documentation Management
Attach drawings and specifications to ECO. When ECO is applied, documents are transferred to product/BoM.
Configure ECO Types and Stages
Managers can create custom ECO types and stages with specific approval workflows.
Apply ECO Changes
When all approvals are complete, click Apply Changes to activate new BoM and deactivate old BoM.
Handle Conflicts and Rebase
When another ECO is applied first, current ECO needs rebase. System automatically detects conflicts and requests resolution.
Search and Filter
Use filters to quickly find ECOs.

Key points
• Always create ECO instead of directly editing BoM for traceability
• Use clear ECO names and Tags for easy searching
