The Project Enterprise HR Skills module in Odoo 19 combines project management with skills management system, enabling skill-based employee allocation, skill gap detection, and training planning.

This integration helps optimize resource utilization, ensure work quality, and continuously develop team capabilities.

Define skills for projects

Set up required skills for projects and each task type.

Steps

  • 1. Go to Project → Configuration → Skills.

  • 2. Click New to create new skill.

  • 3. Enter Skill Name: e.g., Python, React, Project Management.

  • 4. Select Skill Type: Technical, Soft Skill, Domain Knowledge.

  • 5. Enter Description detailing the skill.

  • 6. Set up Proficiency Levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert.

  • 7. Assign skills to project or task types.

  • 8. Click Save.

Manage employee skills

Update and track skills of each employee in HR system.

Steps

  • 1. Go to HR → Employees → select employee.

  • 2. Tab "Skills", click Add a line.

  • 3. Select Skill from list.

  • 4. Select current Proficiency Level.

  • 5. Enter Date Acquired.

  • 6. Add Certification if certified.

  • 7. Enter Years of Experience with this skill.

  • 8. Update periodically when employee improves skills.


Skill-based task assignment

Automatically suggest most suitable employees based on task skill requirements.

Steps

  • 1. Create new task in project.

  • 2. Tab "Skills", add required skills for task.

  • 3. Select minimum proficiency level needed.

  • 4. Click "Find Candidates" to find suitable employees.

  • 6. View details: matching skills, missing skills, availability.

  • 7. Compare hourly cost and current workload.
