Quality Workorder in Odoo
Push quality checks down to individual production operations for more detailed shop-floor control directly on work orders.
Quality Workorder extends Quality MRP for factories that operate by defined production steps or work centers. Instead of inspecting only at manufacturing-order level, teams can place checks on specific operations.
Each quality point can be tied to an operation, generate checks on work orders, track pass-fail-measure results, and block the next step when required checks are not complete.

Set up control points by operation
Steps
1. Open Quality → Quality Control Points and create or edit a control point.
2. Select the Product and Operation so the check is attached to the right production step.
3. Set Picking Operation to Manufacturing and choose the appropriate Test Type.
4. For Measure checks, define Norm, Tolerance Min, and Tolerance Max.
5. Save the configuration so Odoo can generate quality checks when the matching work order is created.
Perform a quality check on a work order
Steps
1. Open the Manufacturing Order, switch to Work Orders, and choose the step to execute.
2. From the Quality Checks tab or the shop-floor screen, open the pending inspection.
3. Carry out the inspection based on its type: pass-fail, measure, instructions, or another configured step type.
4. Save the result and continue to the next check if one exists.
5. Only complete the work order after all required checks have been handled correctly.
Lot or serial traceability
Key points
• The module supports tracking finished lots or serials and related material traceability in the quality check.
• This is especially useful when defects must be isolated by batch or traced back to a specific production operation.
• Together with quality alerts, it creates better investigation context for production issues.
Quality alerts from work orders
Key points
• When a check fails, users can create a quality alert directly from the work order context.
• The alert should describe the operation, visible defect, affected lot or serial, owner, and corrective plan.
• This keeps production and QC aligned on the same data instead of using external notes.

• Attach checks only to operations with meaningful risk so the shop floor does not slow down unnecessarily.
