Integrate repair with manufacturing processes
The MRP Repair module extends Odoo's repair functionality to integrate with manufacturing operations. It enables automatic explosion of phantom Bills of Materials (BoMs) during repair operations and provides traceability between repair orders and manufacturing orders.

Phantom BoM Explosion in Repairs
When you add a product with a phantom BoM to a repair order, the system automatically explodes it into its component parts.

• Service-type products are excluded from the explosion
Use Case
If you're repairing a laptop and add a "Display Assembly" that's configured as a phantom BoM containing LCD panel, backlight, and frame, the system will automatically add these individual components to the repair order.
Manufacturing Order Integration
Track manufacturing orders that are generated from repair operations.

Look for the "Manufacturing Orders" smart button on repair order forms (visible to Manufacturing users).
Product Catalog Integration
When adding products from the catalog to a repair order, the system highlights BoM components of the product being repaired.
Steps
1. Open a repair order for a product with a BoM.
2. Click "Add from Catalog".
3. The catalog automatically filters to show BoM components.
4. Quickly select the parts you need for the repair.
Creating a Repair with Phantom BoM Products
Steps
1. Navigate to Repair → Repair Orders → Create.
2. Select the product to repair.
3. Add operations/parts that include phantom BoM products.
4. The system automatically explodes phantom BoMs into components.
5. Review and adjust component quantities if needed.
6. Proceed with the repair as normal.
Viewing Related Manufacturing Orders
Steps
1. Open a repair order.
2. Click the "Manufacturing Orders" smart button (shows count).
3. View the list or form of related manufacturing orders.
4. Navigate back using the "Repair Orders" button on the MO.
Using the Product Catalog
Steps
1. In a repair order, click "Add from Catalog".
2. Notice the BoM parts filter is automatically applied.
3. Browse or search for the components you need.
4. Add them to the repair order.

• Only products with type other than "service" are included in explosions
