How It Works

When creating a new ticket type in an event, the system automatically creates a corresponding product with type "Service" or "Event Ticket". Ticket prices are synchronized with product prices, allowing pricelists and discounts to be applied.

Linking Products to Event Tickets

Each event ticket type is linked with a unique product. This link allows using all Odoo product management features.

Key points

  • Auto-created products have Product Type as "Service" or "Event Ticket".

  • Event Ticket field on product contains reverse link to ticket type.

  • Can manually link by selecting existing product in Product field.

Steps

  • 1. Go to Events → Events and open the event to configure.

  • 2. In Tickets tab, click Add a line to create new ticket type.

  • 3. Fill Name (ticket type name), Price (ticket price), Maximum (max quantity).

  • 4. System automatically creates product with corresponding name.

  • 5. Click Product field to view linked product details.

  • 6. Can edit product information like description, image, taxes.


Managing Ticket Prices Through Products

Ticket prices are managed through product prices, allowing pricelists, discounts, and promotions to be applied.

  • Pricelists allow different prices by time (early bird, last minute).

  • Can apply quantity discounts for bulk ticket purchases.

  • Support multiple currencies for international events.

  • Ticket price on Event Ticket and Sales Price of product should be synchronized.

Steps

  • 1. Open ticket product from Events → Events → Tickets tab → click Product.

  • 2. In Sales Price field, enter base selling price of ticket.

  • 3. Go to Sales → Configuration → Pricelists to create special pricelists.

  • 4. Create Pricelist Rules for ticket product with specific conditions.

  • 5. Apply pricelist to customers or customer groups.


Tracking Sales Status

System automatically tracks sold tickets, remaining tickets, and revenue through sales orders and invoices.

Ticket Sales Process Through Products

Steps

  • 1. Customer registers for event via website or staff creates order.

  • 2. System creates Sales Order with corresponding ticket product.

  • 3. Confirm order to lock ticket quantity.

  • 4. Create Invoice from order.

  • 5. Customer pays and invoice is marked Paid.

  • 6. Sold ticket count is automatically updated on event.

  • 7. Send confirmation email and e-ticket to customer.
