Event Sales IoT
Automated payment integration and badge printing via IoT devices for events.
The **Event Sale IoT** module bridges three modules: Event (Event management), Event Sale (Ticket sales via orders), and IoT (Smart devices).
The system controls badge printing based on order payment status, ensuring badges are only printed when customers have paid in full.

Key points
• Control badge printing based on order payment status.
• Integrate with IoT devices (badge printers) for process automation.
• Validate payment before allowing badge printing.
• Track badge printing history and order status.
• Support multiple ticket types and events.
• Manage IoT device access by user role.

System Overview
Event Sale IoT connects three main modules: Event manages event information and registrations, Event Sale processes orders and ticket payments, IoT controls badge printing devices. When customers order tickets via sale orders, the system tracks payment status and only allows badge printing when orders are fully paid.
Key points
• Event: Manage events, ticket types, registration information.
• Event Sale: Process orders, payments, and link to registrations.
• IoT: Connect and control badge printing devices.
• Data flow: Order → Payment validation → Trigger badge printing.
Workflow Process
Steps
1. Customer orders event tickets via Sale Order.
2. System creates Event Registration linked to order.
3. Customer makes payment via supported methods.
4. System updates order payment status.
5. When fully paid, system activates badge printing permission.
6. Staff or customer triggers badge printing via IoT device.
7. IoT device receives command and prints badge with registration info.
8. System records badge printing history and updates status.
Payment Status
Key points
• Only orders with "Paid" status are allowed to print badges.
• System automatically checks status before sending print command.
• If payment is reversed, badge printing permission is revoked.
Status and Actions
| Status | Description | Allow Badge Printing |
|---|---|---|
| Not Paid | Not paid or no transaction yet | No |
| Partial | Partially paid, balance remaining | No |
| Paid | Fully paid | Yes |
| In Payment | Payment processing | No |
| Reversed | Payment has been refunded | No |
Configure IoT Devices
Key points
• IoT Box needs stable network connection to Odoo server.
• Supports multiple printer types: thermal, laser, inkjet.
• Can configure multiple devices for large events.
Steps
1. Go to IoT → Devices to view connected device list.
2. Select or add new IoT Box (intermediary device).
3. Connect badge printer to IoT Box via USB or network.
4. Configure device type as "Printer" and select appropriate driver.
5. Test connection using "Test" button to ensure device works.
6. Assign device to specific event in Event → Configuration.
Badge Printing Process
When customers arrive at event, staff look up registration by name, email, or order code. System displays payment status and allows badge printing if fully paid.
Key points
• Can reprint badge if lost or damaged (requires management permission).
• Badge can contain QR code for check-in scanning.
• Supports batch printing for multiple registrations at once.
Steps
1. Go to Event → Registrations and search for customer registration.
2. Check "Payment Status" field displays "Paid".
3. Click "Print Badge" button to send print command to IoT device.
4. IoT device receives command and prints badge with info: name, event, ticket type, QR code.
5. System marks badge as printed and records timestamp.
Handle Special Cases
Key points
• Late payment: Customer can pay on-site, system updates immediately and allows badge printing.
• Partial payment: Need to pay remaining balance before badge printing.
• Cancelled order: Badge printing not allowed, need to create new order.
• IoT device offline: System warns and allows manual printing or wait for connection.
• Print failure: Record error and allow retry or switch to another device.
Integration with Other Modules
Module Links
